“A CARNIVAL OF INDUSTRIAL VISITS- FOR PRACTICAL EXPOSURE”

 The Most Important Function of Education is to Foster in a Person the habit of Clear, Independent thinking. Education must inculcate among the students the capacity to possess a clear vision with a point and reason. Now days Students are acquiring information alone which can never make their education a Success. An industrial visit for students is an essential element to enhance their practical knowledge along with their study. So, the various departments of Baba Farid College like the Department of Airlines, Tourism & Hospitality Management and the Department of BBA organized a carnival of industrial visits

Where the ATHM students visited ‘HOTEL COUNTRY INNS & SUITES at Amritsar.The students visited this Veneration hotel property accompanied by their Faculty members, Mr.Parampal Singh and Mr.Abhishek Ruhela & Ms. Amandeep kaur.First of all the students interacted with Mr.Ranjeet Singh Room Division Manager, HR Executive Ms.Manvi who briefed about the Hotel Property & Students were divided into various groups comprising 12 Students each. Students were escorted in various departments like Housekeeping, all types of Rooms, Bar, Swimming Pool, Gym & Spa room, Banquet, Lobby, Front office, Business Centre, Restaurant, Production Area. Ms. Manvi praised the students of B.Sc (ATHM).At the end Ms.Manvi HR executive briefed students how they can join hospitality industry for training & told the history of this Prestigious organization & She offered Cup of tea with Cookies to all the students.

On the parallel line the Dept of BBA also arranged various visits to various industrial destinations, where the students of BBA 5^th semester section-C visited Rana Group of Companies, Lahlru Ludhiana to get the information regarding manufacturing of the Kraft Paper, as a part of the unit of the company in Punjab. The students were welcomed by Mr. B.K Sharma and got the information about the working of the unit regarding manufacturing and technical aspects. In the series of the visits next were the students of BBA semester 5^th section-A, who visited the premises of Verka Milk plant, Ludhiana. At the plant, students were greeted by .Mr. Madan Mohan who introduced students regarding the operations of the industry.  Later on he gave the students detail about the company process. In the first phase he told about the testing of milk & further the milk is processed according to the product. Milk Plant, Ludhiana was the First in India in Dairy Sector to get ISO Certification. The junior batch of BBA 3^rd Semester Section – C, Visited NRC- national Rubber Cooperation ltd Amritsar, Where the students got to know about the manufacturing of the Rubber with the special reference to management procedures attached with this in order to get more insights into that. Last but not the least in the series is the students of BBA 5^th semester section – B who visited FEDERAL MOGULGOETZE INDIA. The Patiala plant of the company is engaged in the manufacturing of a wide range of pistons, piston rings, cylinder liners and light alloy castings, and the students were given the information about the manufacturing activities of the company by the resource person Mr. Inderjeet Singh. during these visits the students were accompanied by the Mr. Baldeep Kumar, Ms. Niti Sharma, Mr. Arjun Sharma , Ms. Tanu and Ms. Sandeep Kaur.
