Industrial visit to Bentex Industrials Pvt. Ltd – A unique academic experience cum religious tour of exploring things


It is very rightly said that practical knowledge always add value to the theoretical concepts. It also enhances one’s knowledge and helps in making things clearer. Taking an initiative in this direction, BFCMT organizes various industrial visits for the students so that they get the first hand experience of the corporate world and also prepare themselves for their careers ahead. In an attempt to make MBA students understand the theoretical concepts taught in classrooms, an industrial visit to Bentex Industrials Pvt. Ltd was organized by Baba Farid College of Management & Technology (BFCMT). It is a well-known manufacturer and exporter of complete Steel Rolling Mill Machinery, Shearing Machines, Reduction Gear Boxes, Pinion Gear Box, Pinion stands, Rolling mill stands and all types of Steel Rolling Mill Parts. Fully charged up with joy and excitement for the day ahead 59 students of MBA 1st year went for the visit accompanied by faculty members: Mr. Gurinder Singh and Ms. Ruchika Rawat.

On behalf of the company, Mr. Naresh Mittal- Managing Director and Mr. Rajan Jain accorded a warm welcome to the students and were directed to the conference hall. They started the session on a very interactive note with a general discussion on company and gave an overview of the company’s operations and explained the way it evolved as a leading company in the industry. He also touched upon some key financial figures of the group to provide insights about the financial health of the company.

 

The students came across the design shop, the testing laboratory, the materials store and the production shop floor and were explained the sequence of different processes. In the last, Mr. Jain took the students to Research and Development (R&D) department and explained it as key parameter for success in manufacturing industry. He further discussed how the company leveraged its technical know-how and became a globally accepted company with continuous focus on R&D. The students realized the practical significance of theory based concepts in their curriculum. They really appreciated the efforts made by officials for providing in depth details relating to manufacturing process and the latest developments in the industry. The officials were also impressed with the eagerness and the spirit of the students to learn new things.

                        On the way back to Bathinda, the students visited the “Gurudwara Rara Sahib”.

The students had a very learning as well thrilling experience with this industrial cum historical visit and its impact would be irreversible on their professional growth. They always get benefitted from these kinds of visits where the practical and theoretical knowledge converge with each other. Further, it helps in increasing their knowledge horizons since they get an opportunity to move over and above the boundaries of books.
