Baba Farid College of Management and Technology Organized Industrial Visit to Wave Beverages Pvt. Ltd

Focused on overall development of students, Baba Farid College of Management and Technology, organized an industrial 4th May, 2013 to "Wave Beverages Pvt. Ltd" Amritsar-Jalandhar G.T. Road (Nawakot Jandiala Guru). The company is basically engaged in manufacturing of all the products of "Coca-Cola". Around 30 students of MBA Ist year went for the visit accompanied by faculty members (Sandeep Arora and Pooja Grover).
On behalf of the company, Mr. Aditya (Chemist- Quality Management) and Mr. Lalan (Coordinator- Quality Management) accorded a warm welcome to the students and were directed to the conference hall. 
Coca- cola in itself is a leading brand which needs no introduction. Mr. Aditya started the session on a very interactive note with a general discussion on Coca- Cola and got insights from students regarding its product preferences. Thereafter, Mr. Lalan explained the historical background of the company and how it evolved as a leading brand in the beverages industry. He also touched upon some key financial figures of the group to provide insights about the financial health of the company.
Water being the key ingredient of their products, therefore, Mr. Aditya took the students to their water treatment plants. He explained how they convert the ground water into palatable form through multi-level filters. He further explained the importance of minimum acceptable levels of water followed by the company so that the probability any impurities can be minimized.

Thereafter, he took the students to the manufacturing plant and explained the process in very consequential manner. The students visited the plastic bottles facility, syrup processing unit and the quality testing unit. The students were really excited to see the quality test unit where he took   some random samples of beverages explained the final products' acceptance standards. The students really appreciated the efforts of the guides who explained all the theoretical concepts in a very practical manner. On the other hand the guides were also impressed with the proactive and eagerness of the students to learn new things. keeping into view this spirit of the students they threw light on almost all the concepts and standards followed in the manufacturing industry (esp. beverages industry).
                                      
In the last the students got an opportunity to interact with the technicians of other departments and the senior executives of the company. In overall the visit was quite informative for the students which provided them a chance to learn beyond the books.
